YEAR 2015

CASEY 10 - 6000 SERIES

To my calculations, it was a good four days later when I realized my circuits were turned back on by those annoying humans.

Had they even found the other half of body? Making me suffer did not impress me at all. What kind of torture was next? And this room. What's with this room! It's so bright.  Why all the these spot lights? Must be some sort of customary torture.

"Good morning Casey", Dr. Jennis said softly," How do you feel?"

Really? Is this little man kidding me?

How do I feel,I said," How do you expect me to feel? Is it customary to torture your guests? All your getting out of me is my serial number. Model  number 7Z6000107, Series 10."

Dr. Jennis couldn't help but  laugh," Oh my dear friend. We aren't torturing you. We are helping you."

"You call this help," I said," Strapping me down under these annoying bright lights!"

Dr. Jennis quavered," Oh my dear Casey, you are in a robotics laboratory. I mean hospital," The doctor bit his lip.

"A laboratory!", I snarled," You have me in a laboratory!  I'm not a  rat!"

"Look...Casey," said Dr. Jennis," We are not here to harm you. As a matter of fact, we are here to put you back together. Make you good as new."

No doubt, I was puzzled,"If you're not here to torture me,what's with the bright lights?"

The lights of the sterile laboratory  did resemble a hospital except the hustle of robotics engineers repairing this very old relic of an android. It was easy to understand why Casey thought he was being tortured.

The far end of the room laid the other half of Casey's torso. A complex series of specialized circuits, magnets and a mass of frayed wires intertwined within alloy titanium legs. Each super leg had a wafer computer chip protected deep inside the thick knees.

"Listen Casey," said Dr. Jennis," We are going to shut you down again in order that our robotics scientists can put your torso back on."

I said sarcastic," Oh goody!"

It wasn't long after that last comment, I dropped into a robotics deep sleep, thinking how good it was going to be in one piece again.
Did you know Robotic with Series 6000 are capable of dreaming.
It's believed our dreams are related to our our experiences throughout the existence of each robotics.
I happened to be dreaming of dragons swooping across the earthling sky, when I was rudely interrupted by these annoying humans.

Once again this little man peered into my blood-stone eyes. How annoying! How would he like it if I poked at him.

"Ah! You're awake!," said Dr. Jennis" Good to have you back!"

I quickly noticed I was laying flat on a metal table, but for the first time in a long time, I was whole again. I could move my limbs freely, how amazing is that I thought.

"Doesn't your species believe in comfort?" I said.

Dr. Jennis was taken back by my comment," What do you mean Casey?"

"Well, I said sarcastic," Would you lie on such an uncomfortable table?"

Jennis laughs quietly,"Oh my Casey, you are so funny. It is such a pleasure to have found you!"

"I'm glad you think I'm amusing, could you help me down...if you wouldn't mind,"I said looking around.

Dr. Jennis quickly pats Casey on her hard alloyed surface, " I'm sorry Casey, but we still have a few things to do. I not sure it's a good idea to have you walking as of yet."

I checked my circuits, requesting a follow-up check on my limbs, looking for any malformities. I could not see any," Excuse me doctor, but I believe everything is in working order. Did I miss something?"

"No. Oh no Casey," Dr. Jennis remarks," It's just a matter of being cautious. We don't want to take any chances as of yet. Would you mind waiting a little bite longer?"

Well. I must say I'm kind of puzzled by this, but I guess I'll humor these humans. I said," Ok. That's fine with me. Do you a least have something soft I can lay on?"

Dr. Jennis smiles," Of course!". He motions over an robotics engineer," Could you please make our guest more comfortable."

The robotics engineers looks confused, but nods his head, looks around and picks up a long piece of foam used for packing," Would this do?"

Dr. Jennis agrees," Yes. Prefect. Would you place it under our guest, so she is comfortable."

Robotics engineer and Dr. Jennis lift Casey up carefully, placing the foam underneath.

Dr. Jennis looks intently on Casey," How's that, better?"

I decide to move around a little, trying to get a nice fit to this piece of foam. Thought to myself," Is this really all they have? I mean really!"  I adjust some more," Yes. Better."

I'm glad you approve Casey," said Dr. Jennis.

Jennis looks worried, " Would you be ok to speak to some of my friends?"

I must of been looking at him a little strange, " You mean now?"

"Oh no!," exclaimed Jennis, " Not now. How's tomorrow sound to you?"

I smiled, it was so easy to get this human flustered, " Yes. That would be better. I need my rest now."

"Of course Casey. Of course," Dr. Jennis  waved for the rest of his staff to leave," Is there anything else I can do for you Casey?"

"No. I don't believe there is," I said. I thought to myself," Never you mind you little human. I'll check out my new legs by myself. I don't need your help. Boy. This species is sure different from  my previous makers. Interesting."

"Well. If that's everything," Dr. Jennis smiles," I'll be calling it a night. Have a good night Casey. It so nice to have found you."

I looked at him with what must of been a blank stare. It was if he wanted me to say something else. Oh fine. Maybe if I just nod my head and he'll go away.

Dr. Jennis nods back," Good night Casey. See you in the morning." Jennis heads out closing the door softly behind him.

"Wow! Finally, I said to myself," Oh look. They have some sort of security system. Looks like an old camera system of some sorts. No problem. I'll just hack into their computer and turn it off for a short time.
